CityTrack™
provides your dispatcher with
an instant and complete view of all
available work crews, which can then be
categorized by the specific skill sets
required for each type of work order
received.
In a utilities department, for example, two
work crews may specialize in water leaks and
main repairs, while another two crews may
specialize in wastewater backups. Therefore,
when your dispatcher is scheduling a work
order, they can pull a list of appropriate
crews for the specific job at hand, see
which crew will be available the soonest,
and schedule the selected work crew for a
specific window of time.
By providing a clear picture
of previously scheduled work orders and
availability of work crews, you prevent
possible overbooking of crews and allow the
dispatcher to make a better prediction of
when the work will be performed.
Additionally, when your dispatcher schedules
a work order, the information is
automatically downloaded into
CityTrack™,
providing a “real time” view of all upcoming
jobs for each work crew.

Another feature within
CityTrack™
is the integration of
mapping/routing software. This provides your
dispatcher with an interactive map to assist
with work order combination, routing and
work crew tracking to more efficiently
manage dispatching operations. In addition,
it is possible to add discrete, real-time
location tracking using java and GPS-enabled
wireless devices from Nextel or Sprint
Communications. With this feature installed
and enabled, it is possible to visually
observe the exact location of a work crew,
or alternatively, to retrace vehicle
movements to determine service completion
time, route verification, etc. When your
work crew has completed a job, they can use
their Nextel or Sprint phone to quickly
update the
CityTrack™
system to show that the job
has been fulfilled, and this information is
instantly viewable by those in management
and dispatching.
Flexibility
Flexibility has always been a primary
consideration in the development of all of
our products. Therefore, we’ve set up our
software to allow each user to set their
view to show only the information pertinent
to their position. A dispatcher can restrict
his view to see all calls that are to be
fulfilled in the morning of a particular
day, a crew leader can view just his crew’s
calls, while a manager may want to see a
complete organizational picture.

report program. View overall performance of

specific to a particular employee with a

CityTrack™

hand written logs typically found in the
